Four Wheel Drive Operator’s Course - Two Day

The Four Wheel Drive Operators' Course is a two day practical driving course typically delivered on-site at your venue in remote locations throughout Australia, New Zealand or Asia Pacific.

The course is designed for both novice and experienced operators.

The Four Wheel Drive Operators' Course includes some classroom learning but is largely a practical and hands-on experience. The course is delivered to a maximum of 8 participants by one nationally accredited and highly experienced trainer.

Aims

By the end of the two-day course participants will be able to -

• Prepare a 4WD for remote or off-road travel
• Effectively operate the special features of 4WD
• Drive a 4WD in a range of circumstances
• Use basic recovery equipment

• Resolving Safety/Risk Conflict
• Low Risk Driving
• Commentary Driving
• Emotion & Risk Taking Behaviour
• 4X4 Vehicle Preparation
• 4X4 Mechanical Differences
• 4X4 Using High & Low Range & Freewheeling Hubs
• Freeing Transmission Wind-up
• Ascending/Descending & Stall Recovery
• Negotiating Rough Tracks
• Water Crossing
• Recovery Equipment - *Snatch Strap
• Recovery Equipment - *Winching
• Recovery Equipment - *High Lift Jack

* Note, the training & certification will depend on the recovery equipment issued to your vehicles.

This program will help drivers know what to do when driving & recovering a 4WD vehicle off-road.
